Northeast Seafood Coalition
Glenn Delaney currently operates a successful consultancy in Washington, DC that for more than 20 years has combined his diverse expertise in business, science, and policy to provide strategic advice and effective representation before the federal government to a select group of leading corporations, scientific research institutions, State agencies and various fishery interests on all three coasts. He has worked with Northeast Seafood Coalition since its earliest days in 2002.
Glenn began his career commercial fishing in New England, the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Keys in the 1970s. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Union College, and a Master of Science degree in Marine Science from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, College of William and Mary, where he completed his thesis on the Morphometric and Meristic Stock Identification of Summer Flounder (Paralichthys dentatus), and was awarded the national Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship.
Glenn served on Capitol Hill for seven years under his mentor, former Senator John Breaux, as professional staff on the Subcommittee on Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation and the Environment in the U.S. House of Representatives, and in the U.S. Senate staffing the Senator’s Maritime Subcommittee and his fisheries and trade legislative agendas. His unusual career also includes stints as an alligator farmer, bluefin tuna dealer, and Chief of Operations for an international trading company with operations in Europe, Asia and North America. Glenn has served with distinction on many federal scientific and management advisory panels and was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve for nine years as U.S. Commissioner to the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT).
Glenn’s professional expertise, notably his in depth knowledge of Magnuson Law, and technical skills have been instrumental to all policy initiatives undertaken by Northeast Seafood Coalition.
Glenn is the proud father of a recent political science graduate from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and an accomplished communication design major attending Syracuse University. He lives in the Virginia suburbs with his very lovely wife Andrea.
